Adventures in Technology | Invermay School Apple Computer Club · early 1990s

Being Vice President of the Apple Computer Club was a prestigious position.

Or at least that's what I told myself.

The club also had a President.

And, if my memory serves me correctly, she was my first girlfriend.

That's right.

My first experience with executive management involved dating the boss.

I'm sure modern human-resources departments would have several questions.

At the time, though, it seemed perfectly reasonable. We were kids who loved computers, learning about technology and trying to figure out the considerably more complicated world of teenage relationships.

She was President. I was Vice President.

I like to imagine we had a highly professional organizational structure.

Although, in retrospect, I suspect decisions about computer club activities were substantially easier than decisions about whether somebody actually liked somebody.

My first lesson in technology management?

Never underestimate the person in the President's chair.

Especially when you're dating her. ❤️💾😂

The club roles and relationship are based on personal recollection; the executive-management jokes are creative embellishments.
